# Exclude Category(s) from Check Discount

This guide helps you to configure the cash discount in Check payment method. It offers a check-preferred discount without risking margin on sensitive categories. You can exclude category IDs from discount. The exclusion list keeps selected categories at full price even when the check payment method applies an automatic discount

1. Navigate to [manage.acadiapos.com](https://manage.acadiapos.com/) for **Retail** or [rfsm.acadiapos.com](https://rfsm.acadiapos.com) for **Restaurant** and click **Settings** in the sidebar menu.

2. Click **"Payment methods"**

3. Click the edit icon for Check Payment.

4.

- Enter your global **Cash Discount** % (e.g. 3.5) if you have not already
- In **Exclude Category IDs from discount**, list the category IDs (comma-separated e.g. 10,7,101) that should not receive the discount.

Click **"Save Changes"**

Tips:

- Use the product list export to copy category IDs quickly.
- Ideal for regulated products (e.g, lottery, tobacco) where promotions are restricted.
