# Sales by Category and Tender types Report

Category tender reports show sales by product category and payment method. It helps compare how different tenders are used across departments. This guide walks you through selecting specific report categories, date ranges, and data views to help you generate category tender reports to better track your business performance.

1. Navigate to [manage.acadiapos.com](https://manage.acadiapos.com/) for **Retail** or [rfsm.acadiapos.com](https://rfsm.acadiapos.com) for **Restaurant** and click **Reports** in the sidebar menu.

2. Click **"Sales Reports"**

3. Choose one of these sales reports:

- Sales by category and tender types
- Sales by category and tender types (excl tax)
- Sales by parent category and tender types
- Sales by parent category and tender types (excl tax)

For example, here we choose "Sales by category and tender types" option

4. Select the date range and filters

5. Click **"Get report"**

You can copy it or download the file as a CSV, Excel, or PDF

6. **Understanding the Generated Report**

- Category reports list each product category separately.
- Parent category reports roll child categories up to the top level parent category.
- Tender columns show sales assigned to each active payment method.
- The excl tax versions remove tax from the sales amounts.
- Parent category percentages are based on sales after refunds.
- Report totals stay visible at the top so the overall numbers can be checked before reviewing individual rows.

Tips:

- Use the parent category version for high level department review.
- Use the regular category version when reconciling a specific category.
- Use the excl tax version when comparing sales before tax.
