Why are businesses ditching QuickBooks for Xero?

QuickBooks has traditionally been the go-to for accounting needs. But over the last few years, businesses have migrated en masse to alternative platforms. One such platform is Xero, a rising star in the accounting software world, helping businesses manage their finances.

This migration is largely due to QuickBooks’ inability to replicate the success of its desktop version with its online platform. Many merchants who migrated to QuickBooks online have found the platform to be vastly different from the desktop version, leading to dissatisfaction and a search for alternative options. Xero’s ease of use and revolutionary visual reconciliation features makes switching from QuickBooks an easy decision, as QuickBooks online can be clunky and difficult to navigate, especially for those who are accustomed to the desktop version.

Switching to Xero is relatively straightforward, as it allows users to easily import their QuickBooks file into the platform. This makes the transition smooth and seamless, without any loss of data or disruption to the business. Xero also offers a range of useful features, including automatic bank feeds, invoicing, and expense tracking, all of which are designed to make accounting and bookkeeping as easy and efficient as possible.

Furthermore, Intuit, the company behind QuickBooks, has announced that it will be discontinuing support for QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Services, Live Support, Online Backup, Online Banking, and other services after May 31, 2023. This means that QuickBooks desktop customers will no longer receive critical security updates starting June 1, 2023, potentially putting their business at risk.

With that said, many merchants are moving away from QuickBooks to Xero due to dissatisfaction with QuickBooks online and the upcoming discontinuation of support for QuickBooks desktop. Xero offers a more user-friendly and modern alternative, with a range of features that make accounting and bookkeeping a breeze. As such, it has become a popular choice among merchants looking for a reliable and easy-to-use accounting platform.
