A step by step guide on how to use nested modifiers in the the acadia system. From setting up the nested modifiers, to showing examples on MobilePOS
1. Click on “Items”

2. Click “Modifier Groups”

3. Click “New Item”

4. Name your initial Modifier Group that you want the others nested to something that will indicate that other selections will follow

5. If the modifier groups should appear on a website, always select “enabled” for web status.

6. Click “+Add new”

7. Name your choices/modifiers

8. To add more choices click “+Add new”

9. If all the choices/modifiers with in the nested modifier groups will be the same price, put that price in this group of modifiers (for example if all soups are $2). If different choices have different prices, leave the prices blank until you get to the nested modifier group (show on later slide).

10. If you want the customer to choose at least one of the modifiers, but no more than one, be sure to enter this in Min/Max Modifiers, in upper left

11. Click “Save Changes”

12. RELOAD THE PAGE, AND THEN – > Click “+New Item”

13. Name the Modifier something that makes sense to go with its’ nested parent

14. Click on “show if any of the given modifiers are selected” and type in the name of the modifier that is the nested parent – (in this case it is “Chips” within “[[Sub Meal selection – Chips, Soup, or Salad”)]]

15. Click “+Add new”

16. Add and name the modifiers you want, and click “Save Changes”

17. RELOAD THE PAGE – and Click “+New Item”

18. Create your second nested modifier (do NOT enter a min or max modifier here)

19. Search for the right nested Click on “show if any of the given modifiers are selected” and type in the name of the modifier that is the nested parent – (in this case it is “Salad” within “[[Sub Meal selection – Chips, Soup, or Salad”)]]

20. Click “+New Item” to create the next nested modifier and reload the page

21. Name your 3rd modifier group and find the right nested modifier to go with it

22. Click “+Add New” (Do NOT put in Min or Max Modifiers)

23. Now on our 3rd nested modifier, we will have some choices that cost differently from others, so in this scenario we would have left “Soups” at $0 in the parent modifier and we will make the Modifiers within our “Soups w/ subs” different prices.

24. Click Save Changes

25. Notice that when we go back into the parent modifier group (
Sub Meal selection – Chips, Soup, or Salad) that “Chips” are at $0 (because they are no extra charge with the meal), “Soups” is also $0 (because the soup choices cost different amounts), and the “Salad” is $1.50 (because all salad choices cost an extra $1.50 added to the price of the meal).

26. Now go back to “Items”

27. Find an item you want to add the group of modifiers to and edit (or you can use mass actions if you want to add it to more than one item).

28. Select your parent modifier group first

29. Then select your nested modifiers

30. Once all modifier groups are selected, click Save

31. Now lets see what it looks like from the pos!

32. First I select my parent modifier (after others)

33. Notice that when i select “chips”

34. There is no cost for chips, and a new Modifier group appears that says “Chips w/ Sub”

35. Notice that when I select “Soups” it says “$0″…

36. But when I get to the newly populated “Soups” modifier group, each soup has a different price

37. And notice when I select “salads”…the price says “$1.50” in the parent modifier…

38. But $0 when I get to the newly populated “Salad w/ Sub”, because all salads cost the same in this case.

39. And all prices are reflected correctly at checkout!
