A straightforward and simple guide to creating a category on the backend.
1. Let’s create a new Category on the Point Of Sale register . Follow the step-by-step instructions below.
2. Navigate to https://rfsm.acadiapos.com/ or https://manage.acadiapos.com/ from any browser
3. On the left hand side of the page click the tab “Items”
4. On the top right side of the page click the button “View Categories“
5. On the top right side of the page click the button “New Category“
6. Start by filling out the name of the Category.
7. Type “drinks”
8. Under the “Status” header, click on the dropdown and select the “Visible” option.
9. (Optional) You can enter a number here to set the display order of this category on the point of sale. If you want the categories to appear alphabetically, leave this option blank.
10. (Optional) Parent Category: If the category you’re creating is a subcategory, enter the main category here.
Example: If the main category is “Beer” and you’re creating a subcategory for “IPA,” select this option.
11. (Optional) Category Pictures: You can easily upload a category image at the top of the page to display it on the POS system.
12. (Optional) you can add a quick description of the category here.
13. After checking all over your information make sure to click the “Save Changes” button.
