Create an alternative name for a product that will display on the kitchen receipt in place of the name on the POS. This is an extremely useful tool for businesses with kitchen staff that might have reading limitations or speak a different language than what is on the POS.
1. Navigate to manage.acadiapos.com for Retail or for Restaurant go to rfsm.acadiapos.com
Click “Items” on the sidebar
2. Click “Custom Attributes” on the top right
3. Click “New product Attribute” in the upper right part of the screen
4. Under ATTRIBUTE CODE, you must enter “kitchen_name” (without quotes, lowercase) or this setting will not work.
5. Under CUSTOM ATTRIBUTE TYPE, select Product attribute / string.
6. Step 1. Under ATTRIBUTE NAME, enter the name you want to appear in the item creation field. “Kitchen Name” is the most commonly used.
Step 2. Under CUSTOM ATTRIBUTE TYPE, select Product attribute / string.
Step 3. Under FRONTEND INPUT TYPE, select Text.
7. Under FRONTEND INPUT TYPE, select Text.
8. Type “6” for the size of the text field for the kitchen name, if you use really long names, you can go all the way up to a value of 1-12. In this example I used 6, it can always be adjusted later.
9. Under SHOW ON QUICK UPDATE FORM, select Enabled if you want this field to appear in the quick update popup or Disabled if you do not want it to.
10. To show on the product list in the “Items” area, you will see it displayed as a column To enable, Select the “Enabled” option.
11. Click “Save Changes”
12. Click “Items” on the sidebar
13. Click the blue pen next to the item you want to EDIT/VIEW
14. Notice the new field named “Kitchen Name”. This is where you give the product an alternative name for the kitchen receipt.
15. Type the alternative name
16. Click “Save”
