Case quantity settings let you manage inventory in bulk packaging without losing visibility into individual units. Use the base *Case quantity* toggle to work with cases on individual products, and turn on *Case quantity on product variations* when you also want to track different pack sizes inside a configurable (matrix) product.
1. Navigate to manage.acadiapos.com for Retail or rfsm.acadiapos.com for Restaurant

2. Click “Settings”

3. Click “General Settings”

4. Use the Filter Settings field to find the sub category “Stock Management” or scroll down until you see it.

5. Under “Case Quantity,” select Enabled
When “Case Quantity” is enabled, every product gains case-related fields on the product editor. Use them to describe how the item is purchased and costed.
Whenever stock is sold or adjusted on a child SKU, the system also adjusts the parent product by the child’s case size, keeping the parent inventory in sync with the number of individual units on hand.

6. Under “Case Quantity on Product Variations,” select Enabled
This is for when a configurable product (matrix item) needs to keep a different pack size per child SKU. Enabling the setting automatically adds a reusable Case quantity product attribute that is flagged for variation matrices. You can then include this attribute when defining the variation axes so that each child product captures its own case size.

7. Scroll down and click “Save”

8. Click on the “Items” tab.

9. Choose a product and click the edit tool to the right of it.

10. You’ll now see “Case QTY and “Case Cost” fields.
- Case Quantity: enter how many sellable units arrive in a single case. Leave blank or set to
0if the product is not sold in cases. - Case Cost: optionally record the vendor cost for a full case. The regular “Cost”* field continues to store the per-unit cost.

11. Scroll down and click “Save”

12. This setup is ideal when you merchandise the same item in multiple pack sizes (for example, 6-pack, 12-pack, and single bottles) and need inventory roll-ups that understand how many individual bottles remain. Configure the parent product’s own Case qty to match your primary replenishment size so the matrix view reflects how many full cases are still available.
Tip: Keep the “Case Quantity” field up to date before receiving purchase orders—purchase order receipts use the value that is on the product at the time of receiving. If you do not track variations, enable only the base “Case Quantity”* toggle. The variation-specific option is additive and only necessary when you manage multiple pack sizes under a single configurable product.
