Use Cart Total / By Percentage price rules to apply a percentage discount to the whole cart once the cart reaches an optional subtotal threshold. This rule is useful for storewide promotions such as 10% off orders over $50. This guide walks you through the configuration process to ensure your promotional rules are applied correctly and effectively.
1. Navigate to manage.acadiapos.com for Retail or rfsm.acadiapos.com for Restaurant and click Items in the sidebar menu.

2. Click “Price/Discount Rules”

3. Click “New Price/Discount Rule” in the upper right corner

4. Enter the Price Rule’s name (e.g. 10% off orders over $50) and from Price Rule Type dropdown, select Cart Total / By Percentage.

5. Choose the Amount, this will dictate the value for the price rule. In this case we enter the percentage (10) in Amount.
- Enter Min Subtotal if the cart must reach a minimum before the rule applies. Here we enter $50. You may choose what works for you.

6. Set dates, days, locations, customer groups, days, or times if needed.
- The rule applies to the cart total instead of matching specific products. Products, vendor, or brand filters are not used for this rule type.
- Coupon lines are not discounted by the cart percentage rule.
- Stackable settings still control whether it can combine with other cart rules.

7. Click “Save Changes”.

8. MobilePOS App Example
Click on items to add to the cart. The discount is not applied on the cart initially.

9. Now, 10% discount is applied on the cart when subtotal reached to $50

Tips:
- Use Min subtotal to prevent small carts from qualifying.
- Use date and time filters for limited promotions.
- Test the rule on a sample cart before advertising the discount.
